Japanese firm Nishimura & Asahi has created a formal alliance in Singapore
One of Japan’s leading law firms has signed a formal alliance with a local Singapore firm, which follows closely from the establishment of its office in Taiwan.
Japanese ‘Big Four’ firm Nishimura & Asahi has announced the creation of a formal alliance in Singapore, the first Japanese firm to do so in the city-state, greatly expanding the range of services it offers there. Having previously established its Singapore office in 2012, from June it combined forces with local firm Bayfront Law to form Nishimura & Asahi-Bayfront Law Alliance.
Nishimura & Asahi has 12 registered foreign lawyers in Singapore, eight from Japan and four more who are variously admitted in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, as well as New York and England and Wales. They counsel on regional and cross-border matters across the contentious and non-contentious spheres, such as transactions and commercial agreements as well as projects and construction disputes. Of the 12, four are qualified in Singapore, among them corporate disputes counsel Tomoro Yoshimoto and white-collar practitioner Masato Yamanaka. read more
