Singapore to tackle money laundering with data analytics

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean says authorities will work with the private sector to target individuals involved in terrorism financing.Singapore will increasingly use technology and data analytics to tackle cross-border crime and money laundering, said Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean.

Teo, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security, added that the authorities will also work with the private sector to target individuals involved in terrorism financing.His remarks came at the launch of a postgraduate programme on financial forensics by the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.

It is the first qualification focused on forensic accountancy offered by a professional body in South-east Asia, said the institute.
